The standard package is 20 totes for 2 weeks at $99, with free drop-off and pickup. Each additional week is $29. Each tote above 20 is $4. Custom packages are available — just ask.

How does Capital Totes work?

Four steps: 1) Message us with your move date and address. 2) We drop off 20 heavy-duty plastic totes with lids, free of charge. 3) You pack at your pace — take up to two weeks. 4) Once you're settled, we come back and pick up the empties.

Where does Capital Totes deliver?

We cover the Greater Capital District of NY (Albany, Troy, Schenectady, Saratoga Springs, Cohoes, Watervliet, Latham, Colonie, Clifton Park, Niskayuna, Delmar, Ballston Spa), the Hudson Valley (Hudson, Catskill, Glens Falls), the Berkshires (Great Barrington, Pittsfield, Williamstown, North Adams, Lenox, Stockbridge), and southern Vermont (Bennington, Manchester). Anywhere within roughly an hour of the Albany/Troy area.

Can I keep the totes longer than two weeks?

Yes. Each additional week beyond the standard two is $29. No drama if your move runs long — just let us know.

Do I need to clean the totes before pickup?

No. Just empty them and stack them by the door. We handle cleaning between rentals.

Do you do long-distance or out-of-state moves?

No — Capital Totes is local and short-distance only. We don't do long-haul or out-of-state relocations. The totes have to come back to us in the Capital District.

Are the totes durable enough for heavy items like books?

Yes. The totes are heavy-duty plastic with rigid walls and lids that click shut. They don't crush, sag, or blow out at the bottom like cardboard boxes do. Stack them as high as you want.
